Depicted are the mass intensity ranges (as indicated per heatmap) according to baseline HDL cholesterol level (left upper panel) and after clustering analysis (right upper panel) from baseline to 24 hours after LPS infusion. In each plot, the color scale has been centered at the mid-point between the 2% and 98% quantiles. Color values below the 2% and above the 98% quantiles have been saturated. The arrows indicate the larger molecular weight SAA-1 isoform specific for cluster 2 (C2). The lower graphs show the total SAA signal in time of SAA-1 and SAA-2 between the low and high HDL groups (middle left and lower left graphs) and the clusters 1/3 combined and cluster 2 (middle right and lower right graph respectively (p < 0.001)).
