Quantitative analysis of carbonic anhydrase 3 isoforms from 2D gels and western immunoblot analysis. Rats were fed ethanol in liquid diet chronically for 4 weeks and then given 3 binge (5 gm/kg) at 12 hr intervals and samples were collected as in Figure 1. The levels of carbonic anhydrase 3 were determined by western immunoblot as described under Materials and Methods. Control represents pair –fed animals that were given water for binge control. Values are mean ± SE (n = 3 rats for each group).
